"Muto Scholarship Foundation Announces 1998 Winners"
Northridge, CA .......... The Guy and Gloria Muto Memorial
Scholarship Foundation, Inc. is proud to announce the 1998
Scholarship Award Winners.
Jeremy Vance is the son of Ivan Vance, owner of Advanced Pool Service in Van Nuys,
CA has been awarded the Tomasello $1,000 scholarship dedicated
to the late Steve Tomasello, Regional Manager for Kreepy Krauly USA and has
chosen to pursue a BS degree in Humanities from the University of California
at Berkeley. He states that this educational program will allow him
to gain the basic skills of writing and critical analysis that are
in demand in the business environment today. Jeremy's dad Ivan has
served as a BORD member and president of IPSSA's San Fernando Valley
Chapter.
The Jones
$1,000.00 scholarship, dedicated to the late Mike Jones of Chem Quip
in Sacramento was awarded to Heather Bomely the daughter of
George Bomely, owner of ACME Pool Care and Repair, In Roseville, who is pursuing
a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government at California State University,
Sacramento. Heather is a U. S. Navy veteran and has worked for an educational
lobbyist group in Sacramento where she saw the need for higher education.
Her dad George is a member of IPSSA in Region I Northern California.
The Price
$1,000.00 scholarship dedicated to late Ken Price of Rainbow Plastics
is awarded to Rachelle Christine Pakes, the daughter of Rudy
and Mary Pakes, owners of Tahoe Pool Service in South Lake Tahoe CA. Rachelle
is currently attending Santa Barbara Community College and will be
transferring to either UCLA, UC Berkeley or San Francisco Sate University
in the fall of 1998 in the field of Communications. During High School
Rachelle was very active in dance, tennis, basketball her church youth
group, key club and junior statesman of America. Rachelle's dads' company
is a member of the Reno-Tahoe Chapter of NSPI.
In addition
to the three $1,000 scholarships, $250 scholarships were awarded to
Kevin Cook of Santa Rosa, CA, Sarah Stewart of La Mesa, CA, Tina
McCoy of Malibu, CA and Jennifer McLeod of Provo, UT.
The
Foundation congratulates these students and wishes them the best
in their educational endeavors. The Guy and Gloria Muto Memorial
Scholarship Foundation accepts applications from members of the pool
